Have you heard about the 3-second rule in graphic designing? You get only three seconds to capture the attention of the consumer passing by and only three seconds to make the reader of the magazine get interested in the picture created by you. If the colours, font, or imagery used by you make the reader of the magazine react, you’ve done a good job.
Photography
is all about creating the impact you wish to create and Food photography is
about creating foods like Food Photographers the juicy slices of Beef on top of fresh vegetables
look healthy and delicious for grabbing the attention of the consumers.
If food
photography is used correctly, the consumers’ emotions get appealed, making the
consumers stop and feel that they just can’t go away without eating what they
are seeing. A beautifully executed food photograph is guaranteed to do the job
within three seconds.
It is
believed that the food photography out of all other types of commercial photography
is one of the most difficult photography. It involves ample creative thought,
understanding of the light and the angles of the Camera, the selection of the
lens and how all these can be used for enhancing the look of the eatable. It
requires a team with a lot of experience and a creative process. Here is the
procedure adopted by us.
Creative Research - How do we make a bowl of Beef look
presentable? What is the best way of displaying a box of dry fruits? As soon as
we are intimated about the food photography, we start doing the research for
finding certain images that can be used as a reference for our work. For
creating the shots and serving as visual references, we look for the background
references, angles of the Camera, lighting and colour.
Concept Development - After doing the research, we
consider those visual references for sketching our layouts. At times, the
photography can interfere with the typography therefore, we sketch them
accordingly. Creation of the concept sketches is the base for us to develop the
shot because only in the early phase can we envision the look of our shot
before taking the photograph. After finalizing, we present the images to the
client.
Art Direction and Styling - We have the backgrounds, the props
and the other styling tools required for carrying out our vision. Then, we take
the shot as per the specifications. Is my subject Best Food Stylist properly lit? Or does it
require more lighting? Do I need the shadows for contrasting the food? Should I
shoot from a lower angle or else a higher angle so that the emphasis can be on
the plating? Is the appearance of the Protein more important or the appearance
of the vegetable is more important? We possess the ability to make the shot
appear creative by looking at all the above mentioned aspects.
We make your
customers stop and look at the beautifully executed photographs of the
eatables. Contact Niharika Shukla for creating a well laid out design of your eatables.
